Band A · Novice & Basic

The first two levels: build pronunciation, core characters and everyday conversation.

Novice (入门级)

Cover 500 core words, pronunciation and tones, greetings, self-introduction and simple shopping.

Intermediate (进阶级)

Reach the intermediate threshold with 2,500 words: give opinions, retell events and read short passages.

TOCFL is Taiwan's Chinese proficiency exam and is taken in Traditional characters. This roadmap follows the official TOCFL vocabulary targets, while the app still shows Simplified characters by default — use the Traditional ↔ Simplified tool when you need to compare.
